The Equitable Innovation and Development of Optimized Structures Society
Currently membership sits at two — my girlfriend, who graciously joined my cult — cultured organization — and myself.
To start, I’ll say there’s little I’d attempt to assert about the future other than that if nothing changes in the way we manufacture and distribute material wealth, the rich will continue to get richer and the poor poorer.
EIDOS is an attempt to do whatever can be done to bridge the ever-growing divide. This society and site may never gain traction, may never go anywhere. Smaller ambitions such as waking up on time or holding a job have slipped through my fingers. My journals are a graveyard of grand ideals. My obituary as it stands would be more of a zine, or a small flier’s worth of accomplishments.
Maybe the saving grace of this idea is it’s not truly me, and if it succeeds it can be piloted by steadier hands when I am done. Maybe I should just have more damn faith in myself for once.
If I’m losing you, stay with me for a moment. Imagine, if you will, a world where everyone had the ability to fabricate any structure — organic or inorganic — at will, without cost. Energy, transportation, housing, food scarcity — any inequality that could possibly be tied to a material substance or structure — all becoming issues of the distant past.
A vast call to action for any and all minds that wish to see a better world for their fellow human beings.
Come one, come all, to The EIDOS Society.
